AWP 2022 Conference and Book Fair in Philadelphia
After attending my first experience in the exciting world of the AWP 2022 Conference and Book Fair in Philadelphia, I’m all set to share with you the magic of the event.
If you’re not familiar, AWP – or the Association of Writers & Writing Programs – holds an annual gathering that’s pretty much the Coachella of the literary world. It’s a haven for writers, publishers, editors, and anyone with an undeniable love for words.
Philadelphia, the city of Brotherly Love, was our host. With its rich history, vibrant arts scene, and the iconic Liberty Bell setting the backdrop, it was like stepping into a living, breathing story.
The conference was a flurry of activity. Workshops, panel discussions, keynote speeches – each day was a treasure trove of literary insights.
Then there was the Book Fair, an absolute treat for the senses. Rows and rows of books, the air filled with the intoxicating scent of ink and paper, and the chance to interact with some of my favorite authors and publishers. This, my friends, is what dreams are made of!
What stood out the most about AWP 2022 was the camaraderie. Being amidst so many individuals, each with a unique voice and shared passion for literature, was nothing short of inspiring. And Philadelphia’s famous cheesesteak? An epicurean delight that perfectly fuelled my literary escapades!
The AWP 2022 Conference and Book Fair wasn’t just an event; it was a celebration of the literary world in all its diversity and vibrancy. It’s an experience that I’ll carry with me, inspiring my words and stories, as I eagerly await AWP 2023!
